WHY BLOCK HEADS?

WHY BLOCK HEADS?

Because we’re more alike than we think.

The block heads represent unity.

No matter your race, background, or socioeconomic status… we’re all built from the same emotional DNA. We all feel joy. We all feel pain. We all want connection.

The block shape became the perfect symbol of that idea:
simple, equal, universal.

Collectors around the world often tell me the same thing:
“These musicians feel familiar… like I’ve seen them before.”
That’s intentional.

I paint them as reflections of all of us.

THE LIGHT–TO–DARK HEADS

A visual rhythm that guides your eyes like music.

One of the subtle details people don’t notice at first:

The left side of each head is painted lighter,
and the right side is painted darker.

This wasn’t random — it’s deliberate.

We read from left to right.
So your eyes naturally travel across each musician from light to dark…
creating a visual flow that feels like rhythm.

It keeps the story moving.
It keeps you engaged.
It keeps the artwork alive.

Just like jazz.

BOLD PALETTE-KNIFE STROKES — THE SOUND OF JAZZ ON CANVAS

Every Block-Head Musician is painted entirely with a palette knife.

The texture.
The bold strokes.
The energy.
The movement.

It all mirrors the spirit of jazz — unpredictable, expressive, alive.

The palette knife forces me to commit.
There’s no erasing.
No soft blending.
Every stroke becomes a permanent part of the music.

That rawness is what makes each piece one-of-a-kind.

A STYLE THAT BELONGS TO THE MUSIC — AND TO YOU

Today, the Block-Head Musicians are my signature.
Collectors recognize them instantly.
They’ve traveled into homes across the country, into studios, galleries, and personal collections.

But the meaning stays the same:

Unity. Rhythm. Humanity. Music.
And a reminder that we’re all connected — block-headed in the best way.
